Those Curious Cranial Nerves

* The cost is £150 for a single class but book more than four and they are reduced to £120 each.

Part of Craniosacral System Essentials or the set of 10 or 15 courses.

This is the third in our series of online courses and will familiarise you with the cranial nerves: what are they? where are they? why are they important? It will consolidate information from our bones class too as we discover how the nerves traverse the various holes in the skull to reach their destinations.

What do you need to know about them? How they are named and numbered, what they do and how they get to their destinations is the key information we will look at, as always with the focus on how we can make use of this knowledge in our practices.

This deep dive into their pathways and actions, and some of the curious things about them we will learn along the way, will supercharge your hands when you are called to work with them.

You will also get:

  • Workbook

A workbook to print out before the online class and use during it as well as afterwards for review

  • Handouts

Print the slides we will refer to and annotate during the teaching time or access them afterwards to remind you what we learned

  • Recording

You will get the zoom link to join the online class plus access to the recording of your class which students say they love!

What we will cover:

  • We will go step by step through each cranial nerve

What is it called? Where are its nuclei?

  • What holes they exit the skull through

We will see where they go through the dura and how they get to the holes, and which other nerves may share the passageway!

  • Structures the nerves pass by / through /in proximity to

Once through the hole in the skull how do they get to where they are going? We will explore where and how they run in reference to some of the other key structures of the head and neck.

  • This class will help you consolidate your understanding

We will also incorporate as much hands on participation and interaction as possible - this will be by using zoom's amazing 'breakout rooms' where you can chew over aspects of the material with your fellow students, answer questions or complete tasks that are set; by using the workbooks so we can actively label diagrams and create notes together; and by answering the questions I put to you all - even if you are on mute!
