Visceral Manipulation Intro - see below for the ADVANCED INTRO!

The purpose of Visceral Manipulation is to recreate, harmonise and increase proprioceptive
communication in the body to enhance its internal mechanism for better health.

Jean-Pierre Barral

This new and exciting course aims to introduce participants to the work of French osteopath Jean-Pierre Barral who noted the importance of organs' motion in maintaining their physiological function. He has developed gentle and precise techniques to locate and treat any restrictions that prevent this fullness of motion. The principles of these techniques are easy to learn and integrate into many body therapies.

This introductory weekend is suitable for any qualified bodyworkers and will focus on the organs of the abdominal cavity.

   What you will get:

  • an understanding of the importance of organ mobility and inherent movement or motility
  • an introduction to the general listening and local listening techniques that help us to determine the precise location of restrictions
  • an understanding of the basic concepts of how to treat visceral restrictions
  • anatomical reviews to ensure you appreciate the size and position of each of the organs we will be working with
  • techniques to treat the liver, stomach, kidney and cecum (first part of the large intestine)
  • lunch, teas, coffees and a study guide!

Jo Crill is a Chartered Physiotherapist who has worked with these techniques for the last 9 years, studying both with the Upledger Institute and Jean-Pierre himself.
