Know Your Viscera

new course!

What IS GOING ON inside your trunk?

Many complementary therapists gain knowledge about the muscles, limbs and physiological systems, but many comment that their knowledge of exactly where each organ is, how it sits inside the trunk and what it does is often a bit sketchy….

Find out how to tell your spleen from your kidney, your mesentery from your omentum and your common iliacs from your common bile duct….

How can the position of your uterus affect your sacrum? Your pericardium effect your ribs and thoracic vertebrae and your liver impact shoulder pain?

It’s almost another world inside of us… come and find out more about it!

We will spend 2 days on the theory and have 1 day in the dissection lab, looking at the real specimens.

  What will we cover?

  • Basic anatomy of all the organs of the thorax, abdomen and pelvis
  • The different tissue types that constitute each organ and therefore.
  • How it does its job
  • Exactly where it is positioned in the trunk, its neighbours and connections
  • The important and fascinating connective tissue links that hold us all together < this is the really interesting bit for us as practitioners!

This is also a great support for anyone doing or thinking about doing some visceral manipulation. See HERE for more of my ranting on how amazing this work is or the Introduction to Visceral Manipulation for information about starting off.
