Meridians in Bodywork

Chinese medicine has been around for thousands of years; Thai, Tibetan, Indonesian and Japanese peoples developed and use other medicinal methods and a few others have nearly as long a history. What do they have in common? They all incorporate undefined, invisible to the naked eye and modern medical imaging, energy lines that are dubbed meridians.

Science accepts most things only after rigorous proof and these seem to prove a little elusive (though there are many interesting pieces of work that have been done) Yet thousands of years is a long time. So could there be something in them? And what are the benefits to including them in other approaches to health?

Well, as a trained shiatsu practitioner I certainly think there is something to them. And this 'thing' can be equally as undefined. Working with them can generate physical changes, emotional release and psychological transformation. Or perhaps it is better to say that energetic changes can affect us physically, emotionally and psychologically. Whichever way round, if we hit on a good 'point' then change can happen.

Meridian
  • You will learn a little bit of 'meridian history'
  • You will learn some basic 'location information' ie where they run!
  • You will learn the location of some impoirtant acupuncture points and how to work with them
  • You will learn how to open your awareness as to when it is useful to use the meridian system
  • You will FEEL THEM, know if you are ON THEM and when to WORK WITH THEM
  • There will be a little bit of theory and a lot of practice
  • You will be able to INTEGRATE THEM into other bodywork practices

Please note this workshop will not teach any therapeutic method but rather an awareness that can be integrated into other practice.

This NEW and IMPROVED 3 day course will allow for a bit more time on all of the above, especially following their pathways and feeling them. We will also be looking at some of the important points along the way and what they can be useful for.
