See your live blood - under the microscope!

Why?

One tiny (painlessly taken!) drop of blood gives us a powerful, engaging and unique microcosmic view of YOU! You see a snapshot of some of the deeper dynamic processes occurring inside of you that are fascinating and often profoundly moving. Most people truly begin to understand, at a far deeper level, the need to take care of their health. You get to see your actual cells, the state of your plasma and the vitality of your ‘biological terrain’.

How well is your body coping with your life?

What is working? What could be improved? What do you already know that you could change? Should change?
Will change? Looking at the patterns seen in the blood as a whole, as well as any individual anomalies, we start to get a sense, in this moment, of how this vital part of your body’s delivery system is coping with your lifestyle.

And if you do make changes, what difference will it make? This tool is great for monitoring how our blood responds to the changes we make, which in itself can be a great incentive. It also helps you realise the impact of stress and trauma and learn how you and your body can best cope with life as it happens – which of course it is going to do!

What you see …

Red blood cells – we will look at their size, which should be uniform; how well they can stay apart versus sticking together (see first vs second picture above); the quality of the membranes (the walls of the cells), which should be and stay round even after 20-30 minutes – they can sometimes appear pear shaped, corrugated, with protrusions etc...

White blood cells – we see how many there are, (the two more blue looking cells in the dark picture to the right) how active they are and how well they seem able to do their job of destroying invaders…

Platelets – these are the clotters of the blood – (blood is on the verge of clotting all the time) – we look at how long it may take them to stick or clump together… (they are the small black bits in the picture on the right)

Plasma – this is the fluid medium in which all the cells and other nutrients, hormones, enzymes etc travel so we look at how clear it appears, how long it stays clear and whether or not there are things that fall too easily out of solution.

Dried Blood - as well as seeing the live blood cells under the microscope, we can also look at samples of dried blood to give another angle of the overall picture of your health. This shows more about the levels of oxidative stress – ie how much free radical damage is going on.

…and what you don’t

It is important to be aware of the scope of this tool. Looking at your blood under a microscope will not enable anyone to diagnose specific diseases, identify specific levels of deficiency, recommend medications or enable you to solve all of life’s conundrums… But is an amazing tool that certainly seems to reflect people’s experience of their health, vitality and va va voom!
